Am Cranky. Will Kill.
Jul. 17th, 2007 02:13 pmOn the way to work this morning, I saw the same cat that I saw on the way home last night. Last night it was alive and running in the streets, this morning it was...well, still in the street.
It's not like it was a wild cat--it had a collar and looked well fed. I've said it before, but if people are already okay with the premise of keeping an animal as a pet, then they have to be okay with keeping the animal (particularly if said animal is small and prone to wandering outside a fence) in the house 24/7 in the city. It's too densely populated to let your cat out in urban Saint Paul. Sorry.
I don't care if you feel it's unfair to the cat. It's pretty unfair that in cat vs. car, the car will most always win. I don't care if your cat really, really wants to go outside, or you feel it should hunt. It's your PET now, not a barn cat. UGH. The whole thing just made me sad--and reinforced my convictions that my two babies won't ever feel the (outdoor) grass beneath their paws.
Additionally: Someone took the last piece of chocolate from my candy jar. Yeah, it's there for everyone to eat, but seriously...the last piece. That's just cruel. When I left last night there were 3 pieces...now there are none, and I really needed a bit of chocolate this morning.
Also: I'm too old to stay up until 2 consistently, get up for work, and expect to be functioning at normal levels. It seems to me that I used to be able to do this, and do this quite well. Now, not so much.
