Things I Need to Learn How to Do

Watching Project Runway got me thinking (I know, like whoa man). I've always wanted to know how to sew/design my own clothing. That seems like such a self-sufficient, neat thing to know how to do. I then started thinking about all the other things that I need to learn. I would say that I needed to learn them before I die, but that sounds very fatalistic, and with my level of procrastination that would leave me with about 2 years of heavy education in my late 80's.

Without further delay, the things I want/need to learn how to do:

-Design and Sew stuff
-Knit, crochet and embroider properly
-Play the piano well
-Swim
-Play a stringed instrument
-Speak another (additional) language proficiently
-Cook (properly, with REAL spices and stuff)
-Paint (again, properly)
-Make pottery and mess with clay in a productive way
-Take really good photos
-Be a photoshop captain (not just an fumbly-type ensign)
-Dance properly and all fancy-like
-Yoga
-Martial Arts
-Interior design
-Scrapbooking in some kind of meaningful way
-Create book bindings (make my own hardcover books from current paperbacks)
-Play the Harmonica

I'll add to this throughout the day as I think of more things. Methinks I need to take some classes here.

I'm not saying that I don't have talents--I can do a lot of neat things (like playing the sax, writing decently, running semi-long distances, reading good books, making my niece laugh, figuring out computer stuff quickly, doing arts-n-crafts, knowing lots o' stuff about plants, etc). So I'm not being all about the, "I'm not good enough"--it's just that I want to learn MORE. Always more. :)

I love lists. I was going to make a list for myself, of all the neat things that I should be working on in my spare time. It was going to be a really pretty list. Did I mention that I love making lists? And now you've written in for me, sucking out all the joy I was going to have in the next 5 minutes. Booo.

Well, you could make your OWN list you know. I don't hold a monopoly on list-making.

You could make a list of things you're going to do to surprise and delight your little sister...that could be a fun list.

Surely you want to have things on your own list that aren't on mine?

Ah yes, that was design and crafty stuff...but none of it major articles of clothing or anything.

I can do crafts...

I wanna make my own outfits so I'm not at the mercy of the new "skinny jean", "empire waist", and "I'm wearing pajamas for a top" trends.

However, I need to brush up on my conversational Swedish, or at least practice a little more.

And I wanted an ADDITIONAL language. Maybe French? *nods* Maybe Danish (but not Dutch).

Il est facile apprendre la plupart des langues européennes parce qu'elles descendent la plupart du temps du latin et du Grec.

Wny not dutch ... its so easy .... Just mix together english & german and add a silly amount of vowels !!
