Today, at work, I received this shirt:

The Notorious RBG maternity shirt. I have no idea who sent it--the gift receipt in the package was anonymous. Derrick disavows knowledge. I had it on a few wishlists (Amazon, Pinterest) and I'm sure I've mentioned how cool I think it is to a few people...so the giver is rather up in the air.

Anyway, it's awesome. :)
And surprise presents from anonymous people are awesome, too.

I don't even know who that is.

Oh, wait, I just cracked it. I think I know all members of your SCOTUS, yet not a single Canadian Supreme Court justice.

It's sort of sad that our SCOTUS does enough stupid shit (or half of it does, anyway...ehhem...Ruth Bader Ginsburg is not part of that stupid shit half) to garner international attention. Without looking it up, I couldn't name a Canadian SCJ. I think that's a bit too in-depth for general non-citizen knowledge.

Does it count that I know who Rob Ford is? ;)

I was just saying something about how Canadian politics is different than American. Notably, ours is much more boring. Our leaders are pure bureaucrats. It was a big deal when a guy with a mustache was the leader of a party. A MUSTACHE! But when when they do fall off the rails (ie, Ford), look out!

But it's our Cabinet who are the dicks, and the SC keeps them in check. It's the other way around in the US.

If Rob Ford were in the U.S. . . I'm not sure if the reaction would be a shoulder-shrug or a complete freak-out. It could really go either way.

I was walking around the U bookstore today and almost bought you (or D, rather) a kids book on counting using hockey penalty minutes. I might still go back and get it.

Ha! I suppose this kind of thing is inevitable and I should just resign myself to it. I think D showed GREAT restraint in not buying a little Gopher hockey onesie this weekend--though I'm pretty sure he wanted to.
