pen_gruntIt is seriously starting to bug me when people post stupid shit about guys dating their daughters.
It tends to trend along the lines of "I own a gun, boys, and I know how to use it". Even when it doesn't it's wrapped in this creepy dad-protects-daughter's-sexuality wrapper.
A picture of a rainbow that said, "I like you", from a little boy to a little girl just garnered responses of, "Locked and loaded, just show me the way!" and, "Right behind you with my own shotgun!" The girl and boy in question are both 7.
Somehow, far fewer crappy things tend to get posted about girls dating people's sons. Because I guess a son's virtue does not need protecting; as opposed to a daughter's...which is in constant jeopardy. And it's not like she has any future agency in the matter. Nooo...
It's patriarchal, benevolently sexist, backward bullshit. I don't understand why people seem to think it's "cute".
