My record for recognizing obscure (or not so obscure) sports heroes is now 0-2.
I had dinner with Bruce Jenner once. An intimate party-of-four thing discussing business. After the dinner I was all, "Now what did that guy do again?"
Today I got upgraded to first class and sat by a handsome older gentleman. He made polite conversation and I smiled and nodded, keeping mostly quiet and to myself.
But I did take a peek at what he was working on--something with gold medals and keynote speakers? Name Jim Craig?
I looked it up out of curiosity when I got to the hotel room. It was, apparently, Jim Craig the goalie for the "Miracle on Ice" hockey team in the 198x Olympics. *shrug* Whoops.
0-2. I'm bad at this game.
