Elbow Skin

This is the point where everyone on my friends list will suddenly think me too weird to associate with, I just know it.

This morning, I got out of the shower, dried off, and happened to touch the skin on my arm right above my elbow.

It was the strangest sensation, because I could have sworn I was touching the skin on my mother's arm. It's taken on the same texture (and it's not an unpleasant or old or wrinkly texture, it just is...different). It's sort of odd to think of that mother-daughter similarity, and it was comforting in a way. I remember holding my mom's arm when I was little and thinking about how different her skin felt from mine. I truly am becoming my mother skin-wise.

I bruise easily, and they're starting to bruise bigger with less pressure. I've even started to get the perma-freckles on my arms from the sun.

And those little red blood dots. OMG, the dots!

I could have written your post exactly - I have made the same discoveries myself! And yes, WTF red dots??? Go away, you little bastards!

I remember marveling at my mother's red dots and wondering what the heck they were. Gee, I'll never get those--I would say to myself.

And yet.

My mom told me how she used to think the exact same thing about the red dots on her mother as a child. It's a vicious red-dot cycle, and I have no idea what really causes them or why they're there. . . .

I love elbow skin. And I'll stop there before you think I'm too weird to associate with.

And you could stop the bruising if you wrapped yourself in bubble wrap. I'm just saying...

Yeah, you're weird--but my kind of weird digs your kind of weird. :)

That's not too bad.

It could be worse. =P

That is *very* true. I mean, my mother happens to be very well-preserved for 60, so if I end up like her skin-wise, it won't be a tragedy by any stretch.

That, and it's not like it's a genetic disorder or inherited faulty gene or anything.
