Meetings.

Piggyback, spontaneous, oh-by-the-way as-long-as-you're-here meetings should be outlawed. Particularly when they go on for hours. I've spent two full days at the client's office. I threatened to build a fort out of coats and chairs in their front lobby. The receptionist was amused, I was gratified by her humoring my exasperation.

I don't think I've been in my office for more than 30 minutes in about three weeks. I miss my space heater underneath my desk. I miss working while at work and not at home. I miss having a full jar of chocolates--they are thoroughly pilfered whenever I go out of town.

Other things that should be outlawed: requiring me to be in client video shoots to fill out the 'cast'. I'd bet I've now been in a dozen corporate videos on-demand. Just look for me as blonde girl #7.

You know, you should go to the library and check out one of the books in the series that starts with Knockout Mouse. They're pretty decent mysteries who feature a corporate-videographer-quasiturned-private-eye as the hero.

Oh, yeah, I had totally forgotten about that. The dinosaur book is currently undergoing a partial fossilization of its own, as it's being smooshed under my "really important papers that I should totally do something with already" pile. Maybe you'll be really lucky and it'll be diamond-ized by the time we actually get around to exchanging.

When abouts would be good for you? I'm on the flexible side.

Well, I'll be "in town" all next week, sort of in-and-out of my office. It wouldn't be tough to stop by and drop them off after or before work either (you do live in Uptown, right?).
