I'm in Portland, Oregon. Why didn't anyone tell me the city was so pretty at night--nestled at the bottom of a big bowl, all lit up with evergreen trees surrounding it on hills and bluffs, dampening the city lights...

I would have gone sooner had I known. Wowza. Wonder what it looks like in the daytime.

"Wonder what it looks like in the daytime."

But it's a sparkly, shiny meth lab by night--so it's all good.

I'm all about the superficial pretty.

Portland's quite pretty in the daytime; all green and hilly with Mt. Hood in distance (look east). Seattle's prettier IMHO, but also much more a "big city."

Of course, both are under cloud cover and grey a lot of the time too...

There are an awful lot of transplants from MN to that area . . . that's probably part of why they go (and stay). Reminds them of home just a bit, but often more temperate and . . . in a lotta ways . . . more - rugged? wild? I dunno.

I want to see the Pacific NW sometime . . .

Oregon is second to Minnesota to me in beauty. I have friends who lived in Ashland and I visted there more than once. It is very pretty
