Screw it.

It was one of those days where everything is off and nothing is going right. For some reason, instead of being able to laugh at this, as I would usually do, I'm taking it a tad emotionally. So instead of writing something depressing, here's a picture of me.

This is what I would look like if I were impregnated by a soccer ball, and was carrying Soccer Ball Jr. Additionally, this is what it would look like if I used a dress that my mother sewed in 1965 as a maternity outfit (no worries, no plans there).

I was screwing around and Derrick took a pic. We (and by we, I mean my sister and I--not Derrick and I) tried on a bunch of my mother's old clothing while cleaning out my grandparents' house. Luckily no one caught me trying on the lilac polyester bridesmaid dress, the wide-wale green cord suit, or the sparkly silver flapper dress. This is the only article of clothing that I deemed worthy of taking home. I anticipate that it will make it into my Halloween rotation.

:)

There is nothing sexier than a soccer ball baby bump, no?

What a fun picture! You didn't take the polyester bridesmaid dress?! That one sounds like it could be re-used for something silly.

Unfortunately the poly dresses were in various states of discoloration/disrepair/falling apartedness. Because it had the same weird empire waistline (which is back in right now, and OMG, can GO AWAY) it would have been perfect for another faux-pregnant costume.

Then again, the "pregnant-at-prom" costume has been done, I think, to death. So maybe it's for the best after all.

Few people look good with empire waists. I talked a bride out of such a monstrosity. She would have looked terrible! Instead I made her a lovely princess-seamed dress and she looked great.

You look way cuter than a woman with a soccer ball in the oven should. :)
