Because everyone loves a poll...

When I travel, I've noticed that I have a certain set of habits and preferences. Even if I know I'm doing something the wrong way or inefficiently, I tend to keep doing it in that manner--because I'm traveling, and I have to have SOME consistency in my routine.
Because I am curious,
[Poll #1039354]
And also in case you're curious,
I usually call Derrick once or twice in a week to check in and say hey--though I really don't have any strong motivation to call him at all. It's not that I don't love or miss him, it's just that neither one of us are phone talkers at ALL.
I always sleep on the bed furthest from the door. Not for safety reasons, but so that I can come in the room and plop my junk on the bed immediately.
I never leave a tip for housekeeping. I know I'm supposed to now--but I didn't know that until very recently--it just never occurred to me--so I never started the habit. Besides, I ALWAYS have the do-not-disturb sign on my door, so they only come in to clean after I've left. I don't need someone refreshing my towels and making my bed for me...it's just weird.
I unpack stuff right away--but only my shirts and shorts. It never occurred to me that some people put away their socks and everything until I had to get a computer from my boss's room while he was still unpacking. I would lose a lot of socks this way.
I schedule a wake up call AND set the hotel alarm...AND worry about waking up on time. I'm paranoid.
My Grandma used to cover every public toilet seat with little squares of toilet paper. I think that's nuts. I'll only cover if it looks REALLY dirty or if something is provided. Granted, in some airports you get the nifty plastic-covered roll-a-protector that automatically rolls out a new, crinkly, pokey, plastic cover on the toilet before you sit down. I giggle.
I sleep on the plane because I think I'm allergic to being awake on planes. As soon as it starts to take off, it's like I've been drugged...and I'm out like a light. I used to sit in the window seat, but lately I prefer the aisle so I can get up if I need to on a long flight. Other than that, I don't have a preference.
And now that's everything you never wanted to know about travel habits in the first place. I've just realized that the last half of this post is incredibly narcissistic and self-gratifying (me, me, me!), but I'm actually more interested in other people's habits. I've already tired all my co-workers out with informal polling.
Any other travel quirks that you have?
