A glimpse into the future.
May. 7th, 2007 12:31 amSlowly but surely I'm editing my wedding photos in Photoshop. I do a few every time I get a spare moment, usually when I'm out of town (like right now). Mostly the light and contrast needs to be tweaked (or rather, put how I like it), and people are getting spots and blemishes removed and such. I'm doing a little playing with the liquefy filter--but shhh...don't tell anyone about that.
As I'm looking back through my wedding photos, I'm newly enraged about the quality. We have no (NO) photos of my family in a formal setting that are useble. Half the family is blurry in every single one. The photogs KNEW this and left those pictures off of the CD. Only when I asked where they were (because a bride may be forgetful on her wedding day, but I KNOW we posed for those photos) did they admit that they had equipment failure the day of the wedding. Now that I look at them, a lot of the photos are like this one:

You can't so much see it in the small version here, but if you look very closely (and have a good eye for it), you'll see that Derrick and Dante are in focus, and things start to get blurry halfway through Emily. I'm not in focus at all. Almost ALL of our formal pictures are like this... We got a refund and what's done is done, but I'm still surprised how angry it makes me.
On another note, if you look closely, you'll also be able to see exactly what our progeny would look like were we to have a boy and a girl cloned exclusively from ourselves. Dante (Derrick's nephew) is a spitting image of him--brown hair, blue eyes, sticking out ears and dimples. Emily (my niece) has the same very fair skin, light blonde (stick straight when not styled) hair, and hazelish-greenish-sorta brown on a cloudy day eyes.
Forget about having kids, maybe we should just steal these and pass them off as our own...
Another "bad picture" example:

The left side: blurry. The right side: in focus. *scream* (Also note the small devil boy in the right corner...eep!)
On a completely unrelated tangents:
1. The MS Walk went well, but was sort of depressing.
2. I'm in San Diego and I've been promised pancakes tomorrow morning.
3. Sun Country really does have excellent customer service...if you like being treated like you're a first time flier that might freak out at any second if they don't use a soft and soothing tone of voice.
4. I have to remember that I can only eat pineapple in small quantities, or my taste buds sort of burn off. Why can't I ever remember that? Because fresh pineapple is so goooooood....
