Show Update
Apr. 25th, 2007 05:41 amFortunately, the most exhausting thing on this show so far has been the friendly client dinner at Legal Seafood--and NOT the show itself. This is how I can be pretty sure I'm an extrovert; the energy expended in maintaining a talkative-yet-sensible demeanor during that dinner was massive. It didn't help that we decided to do this thing where we had to, 1. Go around the table and introduce the person to our left, and 2. Get at least one laugh. Simple enough. And then the VP said that if anyone were to have trouble being funny, they should consult, 1. The employee that was a natural "comedienne", 2. The voice of our character, or 3. Me, since "She's what makes the character funny."
Eeeep.
I'm only funny on paper, and occasionally with people I know. I've gained enough social graces to hold a decent conversation with a stranger, but not enough to do a little bit in front of a room of high-level executive strangers. Needless to say, there was much stress. I managed to get a laugh, but no more client dinners for me if I can help it.
I may have a good chunk of time today to walk about Boston. I'll try to remember to bring my show camera with me if I do.
