Things that are annoying me today.
Apr. 13th, 2007 11:31 amA good old fashioned list...things that are really getting on my nerves RIGHT NOW:
1. The local news. Every time I catch glimpses of it (usually after a show I like) I end up shouting at the TV. A baby was stabbed 135 times with a knife by its mother. The news reports that it is suspected that it wasn't accidental. Really? No crap? 135 times and it is only "suspected" that it wasn't an accident?
2. Parents. Not every parent, mind you, but mostly the parents that are featured on the local news. Especially the ones that will eventually be responsible for the recall of Magnetix (those little magnet building toys that are SUPER fun). You know, I realize that the pieces are small and could be dangerous when they come together in a child's intestine, but maybe you shouldn't let your child eat magnets. Just a thought. Maybe it's not the company's fault that you're giving your under-3 child a toy that clearly states it's not for children under 3 and not supervising them with said product. Then again, your child eats magnets--maybe brilliance doesn't run in your family somuch.
3. Being forgotten. My (other) boss forgot to email me about important meetings because I'm not on his company email list. He also forgot to list me on the company birthday part of the meeting notes--but listed another co-worker that shares the birthday. He also forgot to mention that I'm co-presenting at 4 different trade shows this summer (he did mention that my boss is presenting...just not me). And I hate presenting at trade shows, so I better darn well get some recognition for it. He forgot to mention that the marketing piece that is garnering mucho praise was also mine. Yes, this is a childish thing to feel, this sense of "nobody loves me, everybody hates me..." but it's the way it is. *crosses arms and "hmphs"*
On a brighter note...it's the weekend, I have Star Trek:TNG to watch tonight, and I think they located Titus Groan for me at the library.
