Leavin' on a Jet Plane...
Jan. 14th, 2007 08:38 pmI'm off to Florida tomorrow in the (ridiculously early) a.m. The huge positive in this trip is that I'm actually looking forward to it as opposed to dreading it as I have dreaded traveling as of late. (Major yikes on that sentence there.) Not that it's any different from any other trip, or that I'll get to do any especially fun things, or work fewer long nights on very little food only to get up very early in the morning, or even go out of the hotel room, etc.--it's just that since home life has settled down a bit (no more wedding junk) it doesn't feel like such a huge inconvenience to be out of town. I'm ready to do the plane-traveling-working thing again and that feels spectacular.
The flights, however, could move to a later time in the day and I wouldn't complain.
And random stuff:
I forgot to call
llythefaerye and go to coffee or something this weekend. It just didn't work out with laundry and errands and schedules and packing and such. We'll do drinks when I get back into town some night.
When you mix coffee (already in the cup) with Diet Coke (poured) it makes a wicked-good, foamy drink that tastes oddly like Nibs.
I feel particularly blessed/lucky/whatever in my relationship right now. It's not something I usually talk about (I'm Scandinavian, for christssakes, we don't TALK about things like that), but suffice to say my husband is awesome.
I still have a heckuva lot of things to do tonight, including trimming my hair and writing a 2000 word article (don't worry, it's mostly done already), so I better hop to one or both of those things.
