Okay, I really, really like reading other peoples' blogs. I think I'm a tad voyeuristic, I really like to read anything I can get my hands on in general, and I enjoy reading whatever they are pouring forth from their brains. Sometimes it's inspiring, sometimes it's silly, sometimes it's absolutely necessary (take that how you will). Either way, I end up "peeking in" on friends-of-friends-of-friends-of-friends-of-friends... honestly, I'm sure Kevin Bacon fits into that six degrees somehow....and I'm feeling kinda like a stalker. I mean, I don't actually *know* these people, and most I haven't met at all--yet I enjoy reading what they have to write.

I refrain from posting 99% of the time...because that would be just creepy (maybe?), and I refrain from my urge to "friend" people I don't know--cuz I'm pretty sure that would be truly creepy. I dunno, are people offended or flattered by such things (or somewhere in between)? Are the friends that I get the friends-of-friends-of-friends from weirded out by the fact that I"m looking at their friends posting links? Hmm....

It's a strange medium, this newfangled internet thing. It gives so much access so quickly, but yet leaves out the heart of the matter. *shrug* I'm new to this whole blogging "community" thing, but if you catch a young-ish blond girl leering from the sidelines I assure you I'm really quite harmless.

...*wicked grin* most of the time.

I, too, am a reluctant poster. I don't lack for ego, but it seems so pretentious to just throw up any old thought on a public page.

But I do "friend" the occasional stranger. In fact, I have not met 2/3rds of my friends list. Frankly, though, if anyone is offended by you looking at their non friends-only posts, they're in the wrong business. ;-)

Nope . . . totally normal. That's part of the fun of LJ . . . that's how I met my buddy from Wisconsin that sent me the Kate Rusby compilation CD . . .

*shrug* Mostly friends-of-friends-of yours actually :)

Your friends' posts always make for interesting reading.

That is why the "smart" people keep anything they consider personal to friends only, or on a "certain friends" filter.

ahhh...the beauty of LJ.

Personally I like to know who is reading and what they are thinking about what I put out there.

I tend to friend anyone who wants to be friends with me even If I vaguely know them.

Hi, I'm Marie.
