The Date & Sweet Things
Feb. 13th, 2006 09:59 amWe finally set an "official" date.
November 18th, 2006.
Now I have license to become one of those unreasonable brides who insists that everyone wear big puffy bows on their asses....or not.
On another note, my mom has been staying at my Grandpa's house ever since my Grandmother died (a year ago last Christmas). My Grandfather is in the middle stages of Alzheimer's, and can't be left unsupervised for more than a few hours. So after my Grandma died, my mother went to stay 24-7 (it would have been inhumanly cruel to put a man in a nursing home right after the death of his wife). Well, it's kind of strange, it feels like my parents are "divorced" b/c, of course, they don't live together any more--and calling their house will only get my father, not both parents like I'm used to.
And now...the sweet thing: My dad gathers up a little "pack" and sleeps over in my mom's childhood bed with her one night a week. She was telling me how she'll come home from work late at night, and know dad is there because she can smell the mouthwash/cologne that he usually wears. (Incidentally, that's one of the strongest "smells" that I associate with childhood.)

Date: 2006-02-14 02:12 am (UTC)Where does one buy combo mouthwash/cologne, anyway? We men are always interested in steps that reduce the number of things we have to do to keep up our appearances.
