This is the magic blanket that puts the fussy baby to sleep. I swear I haven't laced it with choloroform or anything.

Well, we think it's great, but she better not lose it. And we should have more for the car, stroller, etc.
And I thought, gee, I could probably make something like that easily enough.

So I did!

And of course, why not make them geeky?



They were pretty darn easy to sew. And fun. It's just the kind of busy project I like.
(The hand-sewn corner not complete yet.)


I may have gotten a bit carried away. But once you have the fabric and supplies, y'know...
I didn't do the fancy inner seam stitching because I didn't want to switch out my thread from black to matching red or yellow (to go with the minky fabric).


They appear to be equally effective. Still no chloroform.

JoAnn, of all places! Their selection was...just these two fabrics. They had a ton more Star Wars (whatever, JoAnn).

So wonderful! I've seen other children need their "taggie" blankets - you could sell these! Side gig ;)

Crafty Planet in northeast might have more geeky fabrics.

I was thinking of that, actually! Or at least giving some as gifts. What else would I do with the fabric remnants, after all?

*I would never. I have a *thing* about loved objects being taken away arbitrarily as punishment and nothing ever being truly mine-mine when I was a kid. The baby gets to have comfort objects that can never be taken away because mom is mad.
