Black shows

I watched all of Orange is the New Black. It is good, but--I feel--somewhat over-hyped. It's interesting, but when each episode was over it was like, "Oh, okay. Well, when I feel like watching something interesting again I'll watch it." It didn't have that compulsively-watchable feeling (like...I have to stay up all night to finish this).

Then I started watching Orphan Black. That is a different story. Because that is really freakin' watchable. I intended to watch one episode and go to bed but ended up making it a three-episode mini-marathon. So far it's super-duper good.

I feel like I'm on a theme. Perhaps Black Adder is next.

I didn't want to watch it, but I got completely hooked into OitNB. When it finished, I was all "so, I'm supposed to sit here and wait until Sep, 2014???"

It has some of the best lines. I threw my pie for you!

OitNB had one heck of a season-ending cliffhanger, I have to say.

I think my only true annoyance with it is Larry. Every time they try to go to his story it slows the plot way down.

It *does* have a lot of great lines. Oh man, the whole Taystee/Poussey conversation about White People Politics KILLED me.

You're right about the Larry Stuff. Actually, she, Larry and Alex are the least interesting characters.

I can't see too much coming out of that finally. Maybe whatsherface will get some new teeth. Taryn Manning is skankily awesome. "They're lesbians. They're lesbianing together."

Pennsatucky is the only character that makes me root for Chapman, really.

Alex is just...meh. I love Laura Prepon, too--but the character is just weird. Maybe we don't have enough backstory yet.

I would watch a whole Taystee/Poussey show...with Red and Yoga Jones for good measure.

I think what put me off at first was I was expecting a female Oz, so I expected someone to get killed every other scene.

Oz was notorious for getting you a little sympathy for a character and then IMMEDIATELY killing him off. Or burning him, or cutting off his eyelids so he look like Bettlejuice and shit.

Haha. Yeah, pretty much. Except there's nobody to root for. (Ir it root, or route?)

Oz was HBO's first drama. They've fleshed out TV drama quite a bit since then.

I keep hearing about Orange is the New Black but...all I hear about it is people saying its good. :/ I may check it out but want to get some more info beforehand about it.

Orphan Black started slow to me and then quickly started catching speed. :D

Black Adder is ACE. The first season/series is totally different from the rest of the series, but still really funny.

OitNB *is* really good. It's just not as "I have to watch 100% of this season RIGHT NOW" as I heard it was going to be. But it is really good.

Orphan Black started out immediately strong for me, and now it's like...well, where can it go from here? But I've heard that it stays strong throughout.
