Buffy

I'm just now watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer in its entirety. It seems impossible that this is just happening. I'm sure I caught a few episodes as a teenager, but it came out just at the wrong time for me (when I wasn't watching a whole lot of TV at all...maybe an hour a week?), and the CW/WB(?) rarely came in clearly in our neck of the woods.

I cannot get over the fact that Almonzo Wilder (Dean Butler) is Buffy's dad. Somehow it is awesome to think of Buffy as the stepdaughter of Laura Ingalls Wilder. That would kick so much Michael-Landon-lovin' prairie ass.

Also: vampires are strategically close to zombies when they need to be a threat but not a Threat. They're all bumbling around and slow and kinda dumb. Unless they're a Main Vampire--and then they're fast and strong.

But seriously. Buffy's dad is Almonzo Wilder!

We don't see all that much of Buffy's dad, so most of the time you'll be able to focus on other things. phoenixredux and I just watched all of Buffy and Angel recently, and now I've been reading the comic books. cool stuff.

It's pretty darn great.

I'm a little sad that I didn't get to watch it when it first came out because there's something cool about discovering something en masse. Better late than never, though.
