pen_gruntHey, I'm reposting my email I sent out in a call for donations for the 2006 MS Walk. A very close friend of mine was diagnosed with MS, so I'm walking with him and in his honor to find a cure for MS. If you can't help personally, please forward this message on to people you know who might be able to help:
One always thinks, "I'm young, X will never happen to me." "I don't know anyone with X." I know I did--I'm young, who could I possibly know that has MS?
The truth is that many people are diagnosed with MS every day. I didn't believe that one of them could be a good friend of mine. Not just a good friend, but a friend who has always had unwavering fortitude and an eternally positive outlook on life. Honestly, I don't know anyone else like that.
You can read more about Blake's MS story on our TEAM SAIL webpage (Team Sail) , but suffice to say, Blake was diagnosed with MS a few years ago. He has been fighting the onset (and fighting the side effects associated with the medications to fight the onset) in a way that I can't even imagine. I don't think any of us knows that we have that kind of strength in us until we are tested.
That's why I'm walking. There are a lot of "good causes" out there, and I understand that a lot of people donate to other causes, but for me, this is personal.
Please help us find a cure for MS by sponsoring me for the MS Walk on May 7th. Believe me when I say that every little bit does help.
