You know what I love about voting? Getting the "I Voted" sticker.

Not because I'm so enamored with stickers (though you have to admit, stickers are pretty freakin' cool), but because I love wearing that sticker and seeing other people wearing the sticker out and about.

It's like peer pressure combined with a club. You should vote too. I voted. Come join the club of those who voted. It's easy. You can get a sticker too.

It's like running outside when it's 34 degrees out in the sleeting snow/rain and seeing another runner. You can't help but smile at each other in a moment of solidarity. Yes, I do this too. You are one of MY group.

I'm such a social creature in that way. I love those little things that tie people together. Voting.

And I'm kind of a whore for stickers.

What is it about stickers? I've joked a couple of times with adult students who come prepared for lessons that they must be angling for a sticker, and I swear 100% of the time their eyes light up for a second, like, oh boy, she's gonna give me a sticker! But, no, I'm not, sorry, because you are a grownup. Maybe I should just get some stickers!
