My mom is just starting to get the hang of this instant messenger thing. She'll do things like write one really big block of text with multiple subjects (like a letter), but she also signs her IMs like letters. We'll just ignore that the first time I IMed her, she thought she had a virus. (Yes, mom, a virus that pops up with your daughter's screen name and calls you "Mom"...that would be ingenious.)
I know she's self-conscious about her IM/technology ability, and she thinks we (my sister and I) laugh at her. We do, but not because we think she's inept or silly, but because she's so darn CUTE on IM. We're trying to teach her, slowly but surely.
I'm not one to post IM conversations, but this is just too adorable:
Mom: Hello. Hope you're having a good day. Love, Mom
Me: Thanks Mom! Hope you're having a good day too!
Mom: That's all I have. Bye. Love, Mom
The "Love, Mom" sign off at the end of every line! Well, it's not within IM protocol, but I don't think she needs to unlearn that anytime soon.
