X-mas Wrap-up
Jan. 2nd, 2008 10:43 pmI know Christmas is long gone, but I've been too busy to comment on it properly. I think this ugly Christmas sweater picture says it all:

I'm really not quite sure why I looked so happy. The drinking hadn't even started yet. Maybe I inhaled too many toxic sparkles from the sweater.
I got a random subscription to US Weekly (the gossip mag) from (I can only assume) my Dad, who alluded to getting me a magazine subscription. I think he thought it was US News and World Reports instead. I was hoping for another free double-subscription (he gets a 'scrip, so he gets one free) to This Old House. Apparently we're getting that too. US Weekly is a mystery.
Dad also picked out sweaters for my sister and I--all by himself. This is positively adorable. My mom was glowing with pride. He also wrapped all our presents himself. Granted, the tags reading: To: Melissa, From: Denny and Nancy, gave the gifts that nice Scandinavian air of detachment. We love you kid, but we're not going to say they're from "Dad and Mom"...that's just taking it too far in the affection department. Additionally, since when have my parents addressed me by my full name? Not even when I was in trouble. Strange.
My husband gave me new pajamas (ones without holes!) and a badly needed luggage set. I get the message dear: cover up and get out of town. ;D
Anyway, Happy New Year, Merry Christmas, a very Happy Hanukkah, and a Festive Festivus to all. Time to rejoin the world anew.

Date: 2008-01-03 04:00 pm (UTC)Y'know, sometimes using a person's full name is a sign of affection, too . . .
Oh - and he also picked out my incredible scarf and awesome I *heart* John Deere socks, too! *grin*
