A few discoveries
Dec. 12th, 2007 06:52 pm1. If one is not in the holiday spirit, there's nothing like visiting an unfamiliar city with wonderful decorations and lights--then coming back to your home city and seeing the same--to get you there. I'm just a little more psyched now than I was.
2. I tend to get very ruminative when I'm out of town. My boss and I spent dinner last night talking about religion.
3. The cats don't respect Derrick's authority when I'm not home.
4. It's not very nice to wake someone up when they're dozing in the car by saying, "Oh my gosh, look at the house." as you are passing a house surrounded by news vehicles and sorta collapsed/burnt down. It was not our house, but still, in my addled, sleepy brain (and being only two blocks from our own house, where a lot of the houses have a similar look/style) I TOTALLY thought our house had burnt down for a split second and freaked out just a little bit.
