Instead of spending a glorious Saturday morning in bed, I had to get up and get on a flight to Boston.

I ended up sitting in front of three unaccompanied minors. Ages 7, 8 and 10. Boys. Brothers. Much kicking of the seat ensued, but I couldn't get too mad--it wasn't like they were kicking the seat on purpose--for them, the world ended at my seat back and I don't think they even realized I was there.

We walked into our hotel in Boston. I'm tired and kinda groggy from falling asleep on the plane. And what to my wondering eyes did appear? Teenagers. Piles of teenagers. Gothy teens with robes and Sailor Moon outfits and fox tails and ears and samurai swords. Holy crap. I've died and have gone to, "There will BE no quiet room away from the elevator" hell.

Apparently our hotel is the host of the Boston Anime convention. Wowza. I think I actually saw a domo-kun running down the hall. Whatever happened to teens doing drugs for fun anyway? I mean at least then all they did was sit around being quietly stoned...

Anyway, we had a nice dinner in the North End (kinda like Little Italy) and walked around for a bit. I dared my boss to go into a bar and shout "Go Yankees!" while the game was on (Boston vs. NY of course). He said he'd do it if I bought him dinner. I said that I wouldn't have to buy him dinner, because he would be beaten to a bloody pulp. It's okay, I'm a fan of 2 baseball teams: The MN Twins, and whoever is playing the Yankees--so Boston can have some of my baseball love.

We saw the church where Paul Revere lit the light to warn the people that the British were coming. It seems so strange that it's still the same building.
I love, love, LOVE East Coast towns. Cali has its pluses, for sure, but nothing beats narrow streets with cobble stones, old parks, brownstones everywhere, wrought iron gating all over the city, and neighborhoods with magnolia trees in bloom. I love a town with a history.

To paraphrase Eddie Izzard, if you like history, go see Europe, that's where it's from. ;)
