Ahh, Good 'ole VD
Feb. 14th, 2006 09:12 amValentine's day is my mother's birthday, therefore I never put much romantic "stake" in the day. It seems decidedly UNromantic (and even a bit neurotic) to celebrate something with aphrodisiacs and sexual overtones on your mother's birthday. Kinda a little too Norman Bates-ish if you ask me. Regardless, in honor of the day here's a little tidbit on my sweetie, and how we celebrate V-day.
The Day: This year we continued the annual tradition of getting a Valentines Day card from our cat. Yes, our cat. Nothing says Minnesota Passive-Aggressive like telling each other "I love you" via your closest pet. These cards usually have some message revolving around making something heart-shaped in the litter box. Yum.
The Boy: Has this irritating habit of listening to ultra-conservative talk radio. He says that he likes it when it makes him mad, and can oft be seen driving down the road shaking his fist at things. Yesterday, however, he proved his ultimate geekdom by CALLING in to the radio show to argue with people. Something about going hunting with Cheney. . . I dunno. He's a silly boy. He needs his own blog for reals.
Anyway, he's out of town this evening on an appointment (oddly enough, he's going to stop by HIS mother's place on the way) so I'm thinking that instead of doing my usual get home, run, shower, cook, read routine, I should take my single gal pals out to a bar and flirt with some lonely guys :)
