pen_gruntI'm starting to, as I get older, measure a marked difference in my disposition based on the amount of sleep I've had.
I forgot to shampoo my hair again. Yup, skipped right to the conditioner. Luckily I realized this while still in the shower so I don't have gross-but-ridiculously-shiny hair.
I passed on (forgot that I needed to do) laundry yesterday at the risk of having no pants. So this morning it was a choice:
--The jeans that smelled like beer (because I accidentally knocked over Derrick's beer last Friday night)
--The khakis that were stuffed in my carry-on bag for 3 days and therefore impossibly wrinkly
--The jeans with a little bit of salsa spilled on the waistband (yes, I AM that messy)
--A skirt. Clean, but also wrinkly and requiring footwear other than sneakers. Not going to happen.
I figured salsa was better than smelling like bar (especially considering how tired I look), or looking like a bum. So now I smell festively Mexican. Mmm....
I fly to Dallas on Thursday morning at...
...wait for it...
5:30 a.m.
Considering the complete cluster-fuck that will now be the airport (what, with the no liquids rule combined with the normal rash of first-time-fliers), that pretty much means no sleep on Wednesday night. I leave again at 6:30 onThursday Friday morning. (Edit: I'm retarded and/or tired.) Since it's only a one night stay, I would have only had carry-on items. I'm scrapping that plan and checking my overnight toiletries. Also people, without the benefit of liquids like toothpaste and hair gel, will be even less tolerable on a plane--and certainly un-fabulous.
You know, I have the perfect solution for this liquids-at-the-airport problem. New rule: if you're willing to drink it in front of us, you can bring it on the plane. No, I don't care if it's hair gel, take a finger-full and taste away. You may now keep your hair gel.
*shudder*
I'd totally take a swig of shampoo. Heck, they could even film it and generate some revenue with an airport-based Fear Factor. (Ugh. I HATE that show, but I'm just sayin'...)
