Cool Places
Feb. 3rd, 2006 07:48 pmYay for the start of the weekend, though it's a too-short reminder of real, fun, passionate life. . .
So, off of Hennepin and Central in Northeast Minneapolis there is this little place called "Wilde Roast" fashioned, of course, after Oscar Wildesque things. Part coffee bar, part deli, it offers dark leather chairs and a bunch of lived-in looking furniture (including a piano).
It has a little book store attached to it, and the only thing that would make it better would be a USED book store. (Sorry, I either go big-box-bookstore, a'la Barnes&Noble, or used--I can't afford small book stores with new books). I like my books with a little bit of history to them as long as they can take heavy readings.
Anyway, the atmosphere was fab, and the crab-cakes were good (but just a titch too spicy for my tastes).
Gotta go, my sweetie is downstairs cooking up dinner (I know, I love that man). Since I've been kinda on the verge of killing co-workers, he's been veeeery, very nice :)
*innocent look*
I couldn't possibly imagine why. . .
