Oy. Fair warning: I'll probably start posting about wedding junk far more frequently than I have been (which really, was not at all...cuz if I don't think about it it'll just fix itself, right? Right?). If you're big into wedding stuff, feel free to chime in. I'm a moron when it comes to details or planning stuff, or heck--even picking up the phone to call people and get pricing (ya know that entails, like, talking to people and stuff *freak out*). If you hate weddings...well, I know how you feel. Unfortunately I want one (I'm not sure WHY exactly, but I do) and it's going to take up a major portion of free time until that fated day in November.
So I had the first of what I'm sure will be many wedding conversations with my folks this past weekend. They've made it clear that they want to pay for part of the wedding (Score!) but have no idea how much they want to pay, or what they want to pay for, or anything like that. Frankly, they're screwing with my budgeting here since I wasn't really expecting them to chip in anything (I'm grateful, don't get me wrong...). At this point it would be far less of a headache if they just didn't pay for anything. But then their feelings would be hurt--and they've made it very, VERY clear that they want to help out. Hello rock, hello hard place.
It's kinda cute how psyched my Dad is about the wedding (hell, he already calls our house just to talk to Derrick). Technically I'm his first (biological) child that's getting married, the first girl to get married, and the "baby" of the family.
So far the guest list for my family (which is a tiny family) includes 105 people. I don't know where my mother is fabricating these relatives...seriously...some of them I've never even met, and don't recognize by name. However, if the 'rents are offering to pay for all things guest-related (catering, mostly) then they can invite everyone up to the Pope if they really want to. Unfortunately Derrick's family is 4x as big as mine, and the pavilion only holds 250 people.
This weekend I'll try to do 2 wedding related things.

Oh Craptastic, I forgot to put "Go find wedding bands" on the list. Oh well.
