Bless those Catholic in-laws of mine...
Feb. 22nd, 2008 05:42 pmIt's Lent (this doesn't affect us because I'm not of a particular religious persuasion, and Derrick is a Bad Catholic). My in-laws are staying at our house tonight and we're driving them to the airport at 4 a.m. tomorrow morning. It's okay, I have to be there at 5 a.m. anyway, so it's only an extra hour of waiting for me.
Since my in-laws are of the practicing Catholic persuasion, they don't eat red meat on Fridays during Lent (which seems like the most arbitrary thing ever, but who am I to judge?).
This means that they stopped on the way to the Cities and brought us tons and tons of seafood for dinner tonight.
Yay for fresh fishes! And shrimps. :D
Derrick also caught some Walleye last weekend whilst ice fishing (I never said I married a sane man), so we'll have that too. It's going to be a seafood orgy. Sweet.
I think I lucked out overall with the in-laws. Anyone bearing fish cannot be a bad person.
