Motorcycle Money

pen_gruntAt the beginning of the summer, Derrick got a motorcycle.
"It'll save money!" he said.
Whatever--I thought. You just want a motorcycle. I wasn't denying that money saving on gas could happen, but still, the primary motivation for him was getting to ride on the motorcycle.
[Insert wifely eyeroll of tolerance and half-smile of indulgence here.]
Now, at the end of the summer, calculations have commenced. The amount saved on gas this summer due to Derrick riding his motorcycle maybe 3x/week instead of driving his car?
$700.
Seriously. $700--extra dollars in three months.
Color me impressed.
I'm still not riding on it though. I'm a wuss.
