Reality TV Overload.

*sigh* So Chloe won Project Runway last night. I have to say, I'm disappointed. I'm a Daniel fan, but it was more than that. I think the contestants were judged more on their previous performance than on their fashion collections. Chloe's collection looked like a bad 80's re-hash. Daniel's collection was, admittedly, rather boring....and I thought Santino's collection was simply beautiful (most of it anyway).

I didn't want Santino to win, but I thought he actually deserved to win based on his collection last night. However, 99% of his previous designs were fugly. I wanted Daniel to win, and he's been rock solid throughout the competition--but he kinda blew the last challenge of the show and he came out with a very sophisticated (yet boring) collection. Chloe. Hmm. I like Chloe. I think all of her other stuff throughout the competition had merit and was pretty solid. Her collection last night was HIDEOUS with the exception of a few select pieces. I mean, what girl would ever wear something that gathered a whole bunch of fabric around her belly and made her look about 30 pounds heavier than she was? If if doesn't flatter the model, it's definitely not going to flatter anyone else.

Enough of that.

I also watched Top Chef (?) after the finale of Project Runway. I have to say, it's EVIL to have a food-competition-show on at 10:00 when I'm hungry, but have decided not to eat anything else before bed. Evil. Pure. Evil.

Looks like a good show though....my brain continues to melt. I really need to get back to my book :P

Is this "Top Chef" as good as Iron Chef?

I think it's too early to tell.

And I've only seen one episode of Iron Chef.

Do they have bitchfights? Cuz Top Chef kinda has some of that drama going on.

Either way, it makes me want to *gasp* cook.

*shock and horror*

nah - sounds totally different . . .

I missed the show last night! I'll have to catch it on one of the myriad reruns they will show over the next week or two. I've always preferred Chloe, but what you describe does sound pretty hideous.

p.s. Start wearing ear plugs and when your brain liquefies, it won't actually run out your ears. Then you read, it resolidifies and you can take the plugs out.

p.p.s. That icon of yours always gets the song "Hungry Eyes" stuck in my head. This qualifies as cruel and unusual punishment in my book.

No, Cruel and Unusual Punishment is the music video for it . . . I bought Dirty Dancing: Ultimate Edition, and that video is one of the extras . . . It did, however, make me giggle until my sides started to hurt . . . classic 80's (no surprise) . . .

[identity profile] liquid-siftings.livejournal.com 2006-03-09 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
well, it's not entirely [livejournal.com profile] pen_grunt's fault -- the song has first put into my head by a Family Guy episode I was watching recently.

[identity profile] llythefaerye.livejournal.com 2006-03-09 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh my, I don't think I've seen that one . . .

[identity profile] pen-grunt.livejournal.com 2006-03-09 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose I should have put that under a cut with a spoiler warning....

Ah well, it was all over the news circuit anyway.

Hey, I blame the icon on [livejournal.com profile] llythefaerye she pretty much guilted me into using it after she made it for me. Evil woman.

[identity profile] liquid-siftings.livejournal.com 2006-03-09 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Evil woman

Well, I suppose having ELO stuck in my head is a little easier to tolerate... ;-)

[identity profile] llythefaerye.livejournal.com 2006-03-09 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Than me? Easily . . . just ask, well, anyone!

[identity profile] liquid-siftings.livejournal.com 2006-03-09 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry, unclear referent.

No, not you. ELO is better than that stoopid Hungry Eyes song.

[identity profile] llythefaerye.livejournal.com 2006-03-09 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
My statement still stands . . .

[identity profile] liquid-siftings.livejournal.com 2006-03-09 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I believe you underrate your tolerability. Either that or you consider ELO exceptionally tolerable.

Stupid Chloe

She sucked, yet she one. I'm giving Michael's office a call on this one. I still have that business card. What the hell was he thinking? Could've been that he was oh so cooly wearing sunglasses inside the tent. I wish that Daniel V would have had Santino's collection. That would have been such a great moment. I watched the Top Chef premiere as well, but am never watching again since they have already kicked the cute Irishman off. Bad tv move, folks. Lost your 18-99 year old female demographic. Sigh.

Hey. Michael Kors DID offer Daniel a job right on the spot though. I thought that was pretty cool.

And yeah, I hated loving Santino's collection, but it was gorgeous (save for that weird bordello-pirate-wench getup he made).
